THROUGH A GLASS, CLEARLY

GlassBooks Project helps community understand mental health issues through art
Speakers from different parts of the Rutgers-Newark campus as well as non-profit groups gathered on the fourth floor of Dana Library Thursday, January 28, to commemorate the GlassBooks project. "I never thought I would see the emotional impact of these books when I began this project a year and a half ago," said R-N professor Nick Kline, instructor and creator of GlassBooks, an innovative art project that explored the issue of self-inflicted violence.

Jayne Anne Phillips and Roger Sedarat continue Writers at Newark series
The Rutgers-Newark MFA Program featured one of its own, in the ongoing Writers at Newark Reading Series on January 26, the MFA Director Jayne Anne Phillips. Joining her was Roger Sedarat to read from their latest works in the Paul Robeson Art Gallery. Both writers had very different stories to tell.

Restrictions lifted in residence halls
Students living in any one of the three residential housing facilities, University Square, Talbott Apartments, and Woodward Hall, are now able to enjoy unlimited computer downloading capabilities. The Rutgers-Newark Computing Service sent an email announcement on January 7 which stated that as of January 8 "the Office of Information Technology would be implementing a new program to replace the current bandwidth limits in the residence halls.
